Today’s question is, “What does the Bible have to say about a father’s love?”
In the Bible, God compares His handling of His people to the way a father handles his children.
Proverbs 3:12 says, “For the LORD corrects those he loves, just as a father corrects a child in whom he delights.”
In Psalm 103:3, God compares the love He has for us to the love a father has for his child. It says, “Just as a father has compassion on his children, So the LORD has compassion on those who fear Him.”
Because we live in a fallen world, our fathers’ love will be less than perfect, but God’s love is not so.
Psalm 27:10 says, “Even if my father and mother abandon me, the LORD will hold me
close.”
