Today’s question, “What does the Bible say about the men and women who have given their lives to defend us?
In John 15:13, Jesus said, “Greater love hath no man this, that a man lay down his life for his friends.” In this verse God has defined and set the standard for the word “LOVE.”
As the Bible says in 1 John 3:16, “We know what real love is because Jesus gave up his life for us.” Jesus showed His love for humanity by giving up His life to redeem us from the bondage of sin.
Giving one’s life for others is the ultimate expression of one’s love for others. The men and women of the armed forces have demonstrated this kind of love by giving their lives to defend us.
We who are alive are the beneficiaries of this sacrifice. So let’s remember their service and sacrifice with gratitude.
