Prayer

Today’s question is, “What is prayer and what should we pray for?”

Prayer is connecting with God.
Prayer shows our dependency on Him.
Prayer reveals our faith in God’s ability to move things in our favor.
Prayer is seeing God as the source of wisdom and power.
Prayer is allowing the God of this universe access into our lives.
Prayer brings light into a dark situation.

In 1 Timothy 2:1-4, Paul gives us this instruction, “First of all, then, I urge that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and thanksgivings be made for all people, for kings and all who are in high positions, that we may lead a peaceful and quiet life, godly and dignified in every way. This is good, and it is pleasing in the sight of God our Savior, who desires all people to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth.”

So my dear friends we see we are instructed to pray for our government. And this is in fact for our own good, that we may live a peaceful and quiet life.

May we find time this week to pray for our leaders.
