Angels

Today’s question is, “Who are angels and how do they minister to us?”

The Bible has lots to say about angels. And Jesus, while on earth, made many references to angels.

For one, angels are heavenly beings. Hebrews 12:22 says that in heaven, “the city of the living God,” there are multitudes of angels.

Secondly, angels are created beings: created by God and for God. Colossians 1:16 says, “For by Him all things were created, both in the heavens and on earth, visible and invisible…all things have been created through Him and for Him.” In Matthew, Jesus said, “These angels always behold the face of the Father and are at His disposal to be dispatched by the Father.”

Thirdly, angels are ministering spirits. Hebrews 1:14 says, “Angels are ministering spirits sent to serve those who will inherit salvation.” According to Psalm 91, “When we dwell in the secret place of the most High…He will give His angels orders concerning you–to protect you in all your ways.”
