Today’s question is, “What did Jesus come to earth for?”
Jesus came to save us from sin. In Matthew 1:21, an angel told Joseph, “She will give birth to a son, and you shall give Him the name Jesus, because He will save His people from their sins” (Berean Study Bible).
Sin corrupted the earth
Sin closed our relationship with God
Sin caused death
But God, out of love for the world, gave us his only begotten Son (John 3:16). Luke 1:19 gives a beautiful picture of God’s love for us: “The Son of man came to seek and to save the lost.” Jesus came to earth for us. To connect us with God. To save us.
And because of Jesus, God will not impute our sin to us. In Romans 4:8 we read, “Blessed is the man to whom the Lord will not impute sin.”
